Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

Lights for Learning

“Lights for Learning,” a holiday celebration sponsored by the Oscoda Education Opportunity Foundation is a thoughtful way for you to honor someone special! Your gift of $5.00 will purchase one light on the Lights for Learning Christmas Tree located at “Mark’s Park” on River Road next to Historic Oscoda Elementary School. Donations will be accepted from November 15th through December. For each donation, a special holiday card will be sent to the honoree or their family to let them know that you have thought of them in this special way.Everyone is invited to join us for the Lights for Learning Tree Lighting Ceremony to be held at “Mark’s Park” on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. To honor or memorialize someone special, please complete the form below. Alcona Basketball Registration

The A.B.A. (Alcona Basketball Association) is holding the final signup for the 2014 basketball season on Thursday, December 19th prior to the start and directly following the Elementary Christmas Program at the Alcona High School Auditorium lobby. $30 per player/$60 max per family for boys and girls grades 1st thru 8th. Homeschool and out of district players welcome. Last day to register is 12/20/13 at the Lincoln Outdoors Center. No late registrations. Call 989-464-6903 with questions.
