January 8, 2012 Dear Interested Stakeholder, We are inviting you to participate in a stakeholders’ meeting for the Michigan Alliance for Families. Michigan Alliance for Families is our state’s federally designated Parent Training and Information Center. We provide information, support, and referrals for parents of children (birth through age 26) who receive special education services. We are funded by the Michigan Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education. Our brochure is attached for more information. The Michigan Alliance for Families is planning our future work in Iosco County. One of our first steps is to bring together groups and individuals that have an interest in supporting families. You are being invited to attend this planning meeting because of your connection to the disability community and educational system in Iosco County. We will be meeting on Wednesday, January 18th from 12:30pm- 2pm or 4pm-5:30pm at Iosco RESA in Tawas City. The purpose of this meeting is to gather information about the communities in our area so that we can support families with children who have Individualized Family Service Plans and/or Individualized Education Programs. I hope you can join us.
